Pep’s story

Pep is a Rheumatoid Consultant in a Birmingham hospital, but nothing could prepare her for the news that her twins would be born prematurely during the Pandemic, amid fears that both Pep and her unborn twins might die….

What followed was Home-Start, and our fab volunteer Beth. In Pep’s own words she explains the impact that Home-Start and Beth had on her family’s lives.

Stephanie’s story

This is the story of mum, Stephanie and how Home-Start, and her volunteer Mary, made such a difference to her life, when she was struggling in temporary accommodation.

Told through the eyes of dad, Mohammed, this short film highlights the difference that Home-Start in Birmingham’s family group has made to his, his wife and his children’s lives as they leave their homeland of Sudan and make a new life for themselves in Birmingham.

This is the story of Simone and her journey with her Home-Start volunteer Saima. Told through their own eyes, both Simone and Saima talk about the impact that Home-Start in Birmingham has had on their lives.
