Home-Start Birmingham Central and South-West
Working in local communities since 2006, Home-Start Birmingham Central and South-West currently support families across Bartley Green, Edgbaston, Harborne, Ladywood, Quinton and Soho.
All Home-Starts offer locally trained volunteers to provide emotional and practical support to families in their own homes. However each individual Home-Start offers a range of additional services/support groups and activities for parents and their children.
Home-Start Birmingham Central and South-West’s additional services
Group Home-Start Birmingham Central and South-West run a weekly Nurture Group in Ladywood children’s Centre. It is free and is open to any family in our districts with a child under 5.
At Ladywood Children’s Centre, Plough and Harrow Road, every Tuesday 1.00 – 2.30 pm term time only.
This group helps parents to reduce isolation and build friendships. It helps children to learn and develop. Healthy snacks provided.
Practical help, advice and guidance. Home-Start Birmingham Central and South-West can support parents on a one to one basis with all sorts of things, such as applying for benefits, dealing with utility companies, getting a nursery place, signposting to specialist services where appropriate.
